It’s been a busy week since my arrival. Emma and I have been working on the last of the paperwork needed for my visa, things are finally speeding up! And since I’m not allowed to be in Australia upon lodging, her parents have gifted us a relaxing week on Bali. I can’t settle anywhere like this! (that’s a joke of course). Slowing Down

It has taken me a little over a week this time to slow down to the pace of life people adhere to here. I’m in rural France, in the middle of nowhere really, staying with my parents, their dogs, Zoey’s mum, and a herd of Charolais cows in the pasture next to us.

Trying To Adapt (Already)

Just over seven weeks left before the big departure. I say big, but it’s going to be just another flight in the big scheme of things. The past week felt like an uneasy vacation, trying to adapt to a life in which you need to build and maintain your own structure. And here I was, thinking my first struggle with adapting to a new life wouldn’t begin until I arrived in Perth.
